The Basics...
Name: Kieron Vale
Age: 22 years
Gender: Male
Race: Gryphon
Occupation: Whatever he can do, but usually a messenger
The Look...
Clothing Style: Doesn't usually wear clothing, but owns battle armor. His armor includes a silver helmet that fits over his head, with two holes for his long ears and two for his eyes, made without a bottom jaw for his beak to move freely. He also had a back and a chest piece, both made of interlocking plates that allow free movement in the air; has shin pieces for his front and back legs; has extremely light chain mail for stomach; neck is bare. All armor is lightweight and thin for easy flying, but still rather tough. They only really protect him from spears and arrows, while are easily pierced by straight on attacks from swords or clubs. He is always flying anyway, so they are never really a problem. He actually almost never wears the head, back and chest pieces, because they are for large battles only. Shinguards are omnipresent, even when not in battle; he almost never takes them off, so I guess they would count as his regular clothing.
Overall Appearance:Kieron's eyes are beautiful and large. It's like you are stuck in a sticky sea of Amber, and can't find your way out. His feathers are rusty red-brown, with flecks of darker and lighter brown throughout his body. He is a alrge gryphon, standing at 5 feet 6 inches from head to paw on all fours, and weighing in at around 150 pounds, and his bones are hollow to help him stay in the air.
Markings: Both ears pierced; right ear has two gold studs and one silver, the other has two gold studs and one silver stud with a small lion's head wrought in sliver hanging from a short chain

The Personality...
Personality: Kieron is basically an overgrown child. He is easily entranced by stories and good music, and is always making jokes. He dreams of being a hero and being respected by all, but he never expects to reach the respect part. Though he is very intelligent, he sometimes does not think things through entirely, which gets him into trouble a lot. When he believes in something, he can be very hard to sway in his opinion.
He loves his friends to an almost extreme degree; he will protect them despite any cost to his own well-being. This also stems from the hasty and rash aspects of his personality. When someone is in danger, he charges to the rescue in spite of what might happen to himself. When you make friends with Kieron, you make a friend for life. Sometimes he can be a bit overbearing, over the top, and dramatic. He despises being bored, so entertains himself in any way he can, which also gets him into a lot of trouble.
He is a very trusting individual. He does not expect anyone he knows to lie to him, which makes him a somewhat easy target for spies. He is completely incapable of lieing, even if he wants to. The truth is always shown in his face. He hates this fact, knowing that it would be a useful ability to be able to lie, but makes up for it in his steadfast courage (which can also be called his pig-headedness). Like a child, he his stubborn and persistant so that it is almost annoying to the opponent. Though he doesn't always show it, Kieron is extremely intelligent. He is very good at guessing the reasons for peoples actions and emotions, and it is difficult to hide such from him.
Strengths: A constant and loyal friend, he will always give assistance when needed. He looks on the brighter side of things and is always searching for the good in people
Weaknesses: sometimes be too hasty and not look before he jumps, He is easily excited (this makes him seem a little childish at times), and can be too trusting and forgiving

The Past...
History: ~Fledgeling~
Malaya Vale sighed. Her son, Kieron, was once again pleading for another story. "You must rest, young one. You will hear another story tomorrow." He gazed up at his mother with his amber eyes. "Promise, Mother?" Malaya smiled a griffin's smile. "Promise, Ronnie. Now get some sleep." Kieron curled up against the warmth of his mother, tucked between her and the already sleeping form of his father, Hieron vale. He was only a fledgeling, and thier son was already showing signs of greatness. Her Ronnie was growing up too fast, in her opinion; just the other day he had rescued a baby fieldmouse from the jaws of a snake. She had reprimanded him, saying that snakes had to eat too, but it turned out that the mouse was Narnian. As she watched her sleeping son, she could make out the form of the baby mouse amongst the ruffles of his feathers. She sighed again, laying her head down to mull over what story she would tell her son the next morning.
~Adult~
Kier lashed out at the bear, grazing his opponent's flank. The bear roared and charged at him, missing when the griffin nimbly dodged to the side. "Behind you!" Sol yelped in his ear. He spun around and ducked from the bear's would-be-fatal swipe at his head. Shrieking, the griffin lunged with his foreclaws at the bear's hind legs, causing the creature to stumble and fall backward. Keir stepped back and waited for the bear to rise again. "Why didn't you attack? That was your chance!" Sol exclaimed as the bear stood up. Apparently the bear was confused as well, because it had not attacked again. It sniffed at him, growling, and tilted it's head. Kier was as solid as stone. Ignoring his friend, Kier spoke to the bear, his voice barely audible, "Have you really lost your speech?" The bear had stopped growling, and continued to stare. Suddenly, as if actually considering, it dropped to all fours and turned away. Kier and Sol watched as it disappeared into the dense trees. Remembering, Kier walked back to an old hollow tree nearby; inside, a griffin fledgling had been hiding. A single long scratch stretched across her face. As he helped her out, the reinforcements that Kier had called for finally arrived. "I found her," he announced to the other griffins. He watched as the fledgling and her parents were reunited, satisfied with himself. "Good job," Sol whispered into his ear.
~Present~
"I'm going to miss you, son." Kieron's father said. Kieron was standing at the edge of the Askarn territory, a dirt road that led into the forest. Kieron would have to travel on foot to his destination, else he would be shot down by arrows. "I'll miss you, too, Robbie." Malaya, his mother, approached them both. Sorrow and resignation filled her eyes. Kieron was leaving with a number of other griffins to join the upcoming fight for Narnia, away from the home they had loved since birth. "I'll come back, I promise." he told them, attempting to keep emotion from his words but to no avail. Sol appeared at the top of his head. "Don't worry, I'll keep him out of trouble." The three griffins smiled, knowing the truth in the mouse's words. Kier was about to turn away when his father stopped him. "Wait, Kieron. I have something for you." He held something small in his foreclaw. Looking closely, both Kier and Sol gasped. It was his father's earring, a small silver wrought lion's head attached to a short chain. It had been passed down from generation to generation in his family; it had been worn by his many-times great-grandfather in the very first battle for Narnia against the White Witch. "I want you to keep this safe for me." he told him. Sol climbed down Kier's shoulder and gently took the silver lion from the old griffin. Slowly he clambered up to Kier's ear, removed a silver stud, and replaced it with the heirloom. It glinted in the sunlight, looking as if it had been made the day before. Kier could only nod to his parents in goodbye. They both did the same. Almost overcome, Kier turned away and disappeared into the forest.
