The Basics...
Name: Sebastien Lienid
Age: 11
Gender: Male
Race: Son of Adam
Occupation: Cabin boy/Entertainer
The Look...
Clothing Style: Since he is a person of almost no significance, Sebastien doesn't wear anything fancy. His wardrobe, or basically what he carries around with him in his bag, is composed mostly of loose shirts and pants, almost all of them too big for him and all of them hand-me-downs. The same can be said about his boots which are old and worn and obviously too loose for him. They are all dull in colour but Sebastien doesn't mind. He knows that he does too much manual work to wear anything nice.
The only exception to this rule is the costume he wears for his shows. Even though he takes great care of it and only wears it when the situation demands it, which is not all that often, the costume is worn out around the edges and has had many repairs and extensions made. The only clear difference between his costume and his normal clothes is the fact that one is cleaner, in better repair and actually fits him.
Overall Appearance:The most noticeable feature on Sebastien is his red hair. Depending on the light, his hair varies from bright red to strawberry blond. His hair is usually kept short though occasionally, he finds no time to cut it and it ends up longer than he likes. Sebastien¡¦s skin is quite pale and burns easily. This is a great inconvenience for him when he is sailing since he spends a large amount of time out on deck but the young boy is long used to such painful burns.
Sebastien is small for his age. This is sometimes an advantage for him because it allows him to climb and run faster. His small build also makes him less noticable.

The Personality...
Personality: Sebastien is generally a happy-go-lucky type of person. He is a small ball of energy and would much rather be optimistic and happy than cynical and pessimistic. He feels that if he was going to live no matter what, he might as well be happy with his life. He likes to have fun and go on adventures.
Born from a rather poor family, Sebastien was used to hard work. He doesn't like being lied to. He gets especially enraged when someone purposefully lies to him because of his age and thinks that he would not be able to handle the truth and reality of the matter.
Despite being young and childish most of the time, Sebastien is very much aware of what is happening around him. He always pretends to be brave, especially when he isn't, in an effort to prove that he is not weak and in constant need of protection. He appreciates the protection, but doesn't want to be dependent on others all the time.
He is not naive, though he is innocent. He knows of things that can happen, has happened and will happen. He understands the gravity of situations. If the situation calls for him to steal, he would do it without a second thought. Something like stealing is merely a fact of life to Seb, though he takes great care in not taking more than he needs and only taking when he needs to.
Sebastien has a strong sense of duty. He knows that he is the follower and hence, follows the leader, usually with no questions. The young boy believes strongly that everyone should do their part, whatever their role in life. Though for the most part obedient, Sebastien can sometimes get a little mischievious when he is feeling playful.

The Past...
History: Early Childhood -- Sebastien was born to a lower class family in the Lone Islands. He was the second child in the family and the first born son. He would be the one to inherit what little possession the family had after his parents passed away. He also had an older sister, two years his senior, named Arrayah. Though the family was not rich, they made enough to get by and they were happy. The father was a fisherman and sold his catches at the market. The mother, when she was not busy at home, would sometimes work in the kitchens of a local lord.
Sebastien was used to hard work. He would do odd jobs around and make what little money he was capable of making at such a young age. It was during this time that he found he had a particular talent of keeping those around him happy and laughing. Not thinking of going into entertainment as his job then, though not letting go this opportunity for money, Sebastien would often perform little shows for people, whether or not they were willing to pay. Usually, those who could afford to would give him some money, and those who could not would give him some food or a small present instead.
All in all, his childhood was one that many would wish for. It was simple, happy and full of love. This fairy tale life, however, was short lived.
How his Life Changed -- During the summer of Sebastien's sixth birthday, the family had decided to sail just off the coast for two days for a small holiday of sorts. They had not had a good rest in a while and had wanted to spend some time together. They had enough money that Sebastien's father had deemed it possible to take two days off.
It was on the second day of their voyage that disaster struck. At the time, the family was resting on a remote beach. Sebastien and Arrayah were playing on the sand while their parents sat a distance away under some trees that provided some shade. Suddenly, a group of men came upon them. They grabbed their mom and knocked out their dad. Then, the men tied up Sebastien and Arrayah up, blindfolded them, and hauled them off to a small row boat, then onto a bigger ship.
What happened to their parents, Sebastien never found out though he had a sneaking suspicion that his parents were either killed or sold off as slaves, separated from him and Arrayah. He and his sister were put the belly of the ship for several days along with others who were also captured. The slavers fed them only when necessary and only enough so they didn't starve or were too weak to walk.
After a few days of traveling and being prisoners held in the ship, all of the slaves on board were taken out to the slave market. They were all washed and fed for the final time before being shoved onto the small wooden platform one by one and being sold to the highest bidder.
Knowing that this was the last time he would ever see her again, Sebastien hugged his older sister, giving her words of comfort and then watched her walk up to the platform to face her doom. She was young and pleasing to the eye and was snatched up quickly by a beefy man with no neck. Sebastien worried about her but was powerless to save her from the evil man.
Sebastien was up next. He too was sold quickly since he was young and could be trained and broken easily. The man who bought him was tall and muscular. His dark eyes bore into Sebastien and his grip was more than firm.
The young boy worked for his new master as best he could. This was partially because he was afraid of the man and partially because it was what he was always taught to do -- listen to your elders. Despite dong as he was told, his master still found reasons to punish the boy. He would hit Sebastien whenever he was displeased. The situation that Sebastien was in really wasn't as harsh as he thought. It was actually tolerable, but as a child, everything was seen in a different light than an adult would.
Where His Adventures Began -- One day, during the summer of his eigth birthday and after an especially bad beating, Sebastien decided that he had had enough. After being dismissed by his master so he could return to his room to rest, Sebastien gathered all of his belongings and quickly slipped out of the small castle. He limped to the closest port and searched for a ship that would take him.
At first, none would take him since he was in such bad condition. He was skinny from the lack of food. Bruises and cuts could be seen on his arms and legs. Then, one captain who was about to leave the port took pity on the young boy and decided to take him as a cabin boy.
For the next year, Sebastien worked aboard the ship as a cabin boy. The ship shipped cargo and merchandise between countries. Sebastien was better treated on the ship and was given a proper education and other training.
After spending a year on the ship and experiencing several adventures, Sebastien felt that it was time to move on. When the ship stopped in Archenland, Sebastien said his farewells to his shipmates and began his travels on land.
At first, he found this new life exciting. But soon, he realized its hardships. Despite some obstacles, Sebastien used his entertainment talents to make enough money to fill his stomach each day. He performed little shows wherever he went, in public places, in bars or in a lord's private home. Somtimes, odd jobs weren't enough and Sebastien was forced to either beg for food and shelter or steal.
It was during his stay in Archenland, and later in Narnia and sometime in Calormen, that Sebastien met a friend. It was a small pet monkey that had escaped from a rich Calormen. Knowing that no one else would take care of the small animal, Seb took the monkey. The young boy named the monkey Egan.
How His Life Changed Again -- Suddenly, the snow came. Neither Sebastien nor Egan were prepared for the harsh winters. Seb was used to the milder weather of the Lone Islands and knowing that he would not be able to survive on his own (even with Egan's help) in Narnia any longer, Sebastien once again returned to the sea that he loved.
Sebastien was again faced with the same problems as his previous visit to a port searching for work and passage. No one wanted a small little boy and his monkey, even one that was trained and didn't eat much. That was until a young captain decided to take him in. Sebastien never asked why, but didn't care much. He was only grateful that someone was willing to take him. So once more, Sebastien was out at sea as a cabin boy.
Seeing as the captain was Sebastien¡¦s saviour, Sebastien obeyed him with almost no question. Since then, Sebastien has followed his Captain around, working for him.
