It was a clear night on the Telmarine island as starlight danced on the sea, the waves making a thump-like sound as they hit the shore. Even though he was a Telmarine; no the Telmarine King and leader of their resistance against Jadis, this was Caspian's first time ever coming to the very island which his ancestors had come from. He was traveling from island to island, attempting to get people on his side and here on the isle was their base, for now that was.
Now, after what Peter had done only a few years ago in order for Lyanne's life made Caspian regret even just almost releasing that horrid monster. How anyone could work for someone like her shocked the Telmarine, but then again people and creatures alike thought differently, right?
Caspian was a talking a walk by the front gardens of the castle he was staying in temporarily, eating an apple. No fruit grew in Narnia now that Jadis has bought the eternal Winter back, but it grew here where the weather was always warm thankfully. He sat down on the beach, looking up at the stars glowing brightly tonight. It seemed as thought they were reflecting off the oceans, as if dancing almost...
The Telmarine had done a lot of growing up in the years that had passed, such as his voice getting deeper and his face had lost its boyish look. It was not only physically Caspian had grown up you see, as he was going from his Prince to King image in his personality. He was becoming more serious and more firm, and his people saw his father in him as each day passed. But the one thing Caspian had not lost was his kindness. The kindness he possessed was special and he most likely would never lose it.

The island was glorious, like a different world on its own, cut off from the rest of the universe. And, it seemed that Jadis hadn't reached this place, it was so warm and full of life. Back home in Beruna, it was all ice and snow. And finally away from that damn captain.
Several weapons jingled merrily on her belt as she made her way through the grounds, hoping to find their king. She had only heard of the rumors of the resistance and was determined to help one way or another. She wanted revenge on the witch for the murder of her father and this was her ticket. She would be able to finally avenge him.
Her boots pounded against the ground as she jogged, hoping to find Caspian. Finally her eyes rested on a form; she'd never seen him at a close distance, and from those when she was younger and remained fuzzy. Slowly approaching, she cleared her through. "Your majesty?"

Caspian thoughts at the moment were of his castle near Narnia, and the starlight dancing on the sea made him think of dancing and parties. He wasn't one to have a party or ball all the time, but once in a while he liked a break from his job as King. His castle probably was in ruins right now, or just crawling with the Witches followers.
As Caspian was looking out at the sea, a clang of what sounded like weapons startled him slightly. Had his enemies followed him to the island without him knowing? The Telmarine King turned his head rather suddenly hearing the noise, and his feelings of fear turned to ease as he saw it was most likely one of his own people from her dark skin and dark hair.
She looked slightly familiar to him, but he sadly had forgotten her name. Memories came of when he was just starting out as King, and one of his soldiers...The girl called him, saying "your majesty" and the King said "Please, it is Caspian. Your Majesty is..too formal" He looked at her, and then feeling rather shy looked away and then looked at her again, saying "Excuse me, but did you have a father or brother in the war. It is just..you look familiar but I can not exactly remember you."

"Please, it is Caspian. Your Majesty is..too formal" Nodding, she took a few steps closer to see him turn and look back at her. She continued her evaluation wondering if she could pick out anything in his features that matched her fuzzy memory. No... the only thing were his eyes, but nearly every telmarine had brown eyes.
"Excuse me, but did you have a father or brother in the war. It is just..you look familiar but I can not exactly remember you." That didn't actually surprise her that he didn't remember her; she'd been only a small girl on the occasions that she came with her father. "Yes. My father was Captain Moore three years ago."
Her arm moved behind her back where her hand clenched into a fist, her nails digging into her palm. "I came with him a few times to your castle, but I wasn't really there long." Keeping her stance, she wondered if he would remember her father.

Memories came flooding to Caspian as he remembered his weapon master, Captain Moore who had been killed in battle a few years ago. The man had been working for the King since he had taken the throne and he was one of the few people Caspian had trusted at first. It had been hard on him since the Captain had died in battle.
He suddenly remembered this girl...she was the Captain's daughter! All though it was dim in his mind, Caspian remembered her as a younger girl, accompanying her father to his castle occasionally. Smiling, he said "I remember you slightly. You were so much younger then...you are a young woman now."
Nodding his head, the King said "Captain Moore was a great man. I am sorry for your family's loss. You probably know this all ready, but I lost my father too. The pain never truly goes away..." Curious, Caspian asked the girl what her name was, being he had actually forgotten. "What is your name?"

Nodding, she smiled a bit. So he did remember; she could see it in his eyes a little. "I remember you slightly. You were so much younger then...you are a young woman now." Walking forward slowly, she eased herself down a small distance away from him on his left. "Yes, but sometimes it feels like it was a very long time."
Her heart banged against her ribs, memories of being with her father flooding her mind. She could see herself as a young girl, sitting on her fathers knee as he would tell her and her sister stories about war. Ophelia has been frightened, as any well behaved girl should have, but Raine was thrilled and interested. Just like she shouldn't have been.
"Captain Moore was a great man. I am sorry for your family's loss. You probably know this all ready, but I lost my father too. The pain never truly goes away..." Nodding, she watched him with interest. "Thank you. Its just not something anyone can just brush off their shoulder. They can heal, but they'll never really recover." Ophelia acted like it, but she could see past it. Her sister was just acting the part of the older, in control sibling.
Looking up from her thoughts, her mouth twitched a little. "Raine Moore at your service."

Caspian extended his hand to the girl for her to shake it and said, "It is nice to meet you officially, Raine. Raine is a pretty name." As the girl who he now knew as Raine mentioned how it seemed like such a long time ago, thought it truly hadn't been, Caspian thought of his own mother, at least what he could remember of her. His memories of her physically were a set of kind hazel eyes, a warm smile, and long dark brown hair. Caspian had been too little to remember a whole lot of her, but he did remember her motherly love and kind heart. Thinking of his mother caused Caspian to feel sad seeing it caused him to realize he would never see her again, wondering if Miraz had killed her as well, or something else had.
Perhaps this girl was thinking of the father she had lost seeing as the expression on her face seemed to say it. Indeed it was true that the pain of losing a parent never went away, but the Telmarine King knew he couldn't let it bother him, because right now his people needed him more than anything. He would have to lead them in this hard time of them being thrown out of their home and Jadis taking over their Telmarine-Narnia home, and there would be other times as well when they would need his guidance, perhaps some even worse than this.
He decided to changed the subject seeing he didn't wish to talk of that black word called Death anymore, and so looking out at the sea, he said, "How are things in Beruna since Jadis has taken over? I understand they aren't good of course, but I would like to hear an opinion from a Telmarine as yourself who lives there."

Slipping her hand inside his own, she shook it very briefly before letting her hand fall. Smiling a bit, she turned her face away from him. Her eyes settled on the waves that lapped back and forth as a silence formed between the two. Closing her eyes for a few minutes, she only opened them when he spoke once more.
"How are things in Beruna since Jadis has taken over? I understand they aren't good of course, but I would like to hear an opinion from a Telmarine as yourself who lives there." A light smirk danced across her lips at the question. There were so many things she could carry on about with Beruna. So much had changed in three years it didn't seem believable. A slightly cold laugh escaped her lips as she looked at him fully.
"Its like a whole different town... Shaking her head, she sighed. "Jadis has her tyrant Captain of the Guard patrolling the streets. He shows no mercy to any of us..." Letting her words trail off, she swallowed hard before continuing. "He seems determined to make our lives miserable. Especially my sister's and my own..."

For some reason, when Raine put her hand into Caspians, he felt his face grow hot, though she was only shaking his hand, and not holding in that way of course. The Telmarine felt happy when she gave him a smile, happier than he had actually felt in a while since Cornelius had passed away a little over a year ago. He missed his mentor a lot, but the King had been trying to get over it one step at a time. Caspian turned his head away when she did, rather embarrassed for acting in such a manner. To break the silence, he said "A beautiful night tonight. The sky is never this clear back home."
The Telmarine foreshadowed things were bad in Telmar when the girl merely smirked and let out a rather cold laugh at his question. It made him consider going back, in order to see things for himself. Then again, if Cornelius was here he would not want the King to go back there for safety reasons, and they would most likely argue over it.
Caspian listened without distraction as Raine spoke of how Beruna was almost a different town, and how Jadis Captain of the Guard patrolled the streets, causing misery and showing no mercy to anyone. The King assumed who she was speaking of was the violent Daggor he had heard so much about. Caspian felt concern when she said how Daggor seemed determined to ruin herself and her sisters lives. The King cried, "Did that Daggor rape you?! Your sister?!"

Nodding slightly, she continued looking out at the ocean. "mmmm..." Was her very small reply. Looking up at the stars as they danced about in their merry way, she smiled a ltitle. How luck to be a star, atleast you didn't have to worry about thigns like war. You just sat up there, watching.
Feeling heat rush to her face and her eeys widen when he accused Dagg'or of rape. She nearly leapt to her feet, but remained to stay on the ground. "No no no no no!" Shaking ehr head several times, she nearly laughed. She was happily un touched and more than likely so was her sister.
"He likes mental abuse and hes crazy over a blonde witch hes been following after." No, not Jadis. The Mirasia woman he was so love struck over. How she could return the feeling, the thought amde Raine shiver. "I'll give him credit, I've enver seen him hit a woman.. but it still doesn't mean I don't want him dead..."

Caspian looked up at the stars, thinking of the many stories behind them and legends he had been told as a young child. He wondered what it would like to be a star, to watch many different people have adventures, seeing as if you were a star, you lived for a very long time, right? But then, if you were a star, you wouldn't ever have any adventures yourself.
The Telmarine felt rather uncomfortable in this conversation, but he had wanted to make that brute hadn't violated the daughters of his former weapon master. Turning red with embarrassment, Caspian said, "I'm sorry...it is just I wouldn't want Casthark's children being violated by someone." The King was a little surprised when she seemed to be laughing at the fact Caspian has accused Daggor of rape, but then he figured if she could laugh it off, then he would never dare do such a thing to her.
According to Raine, Daggor was in love with a blonde witch, her name Caspian had not caught. Hmph..maybe the man did some heart. Caspian didn't really like Daggor, but he would never wish death on him either. After all, he was a Telmarine like Caspian; though he was not loyal to the King but rather Jadis, the Telmarine King still felt for him seeing as they were of the same people. Caspian had been thinking and in his mind the choice made of who he would make his new weapons master.
Looking at Raine and taking her hands in his, Caspian said to her "Raine, I am giving you a choice. Would you like to take your fathers place in my army as Weapon Master?"

Smiling a little over at the King, she watched him curiously. "Thank you, we appreciate it." Well Ophelia wouldn't know and would never have to know. It wouldn't hurt her this way. It would never settle with her. Never.
Furrowing her brow slightly when he took her hand again, she listened as he spoke. "Raine, I am giving you a choice. Would you like to take your fathers place in my army as Weapon Master?" Her face nearly lit up in a grin one another ruining thought filled her mind. She couldn't do it.
"Any other time, I'd be glad. But.. I can't." Withdrawing her hand from his own, she pulled her knees up and rested her chin there. "I can't... because I just can't leave Beruna.. I couldn't bring myself to. I can't leave those people. Not with the Captain and the witch."

Caspian wasn't hurt, nor offended when Raine declined his offer to become his new weapon master. Not that the King didn't fell a pang of dissappointment of course, but he could understand her reason for not wanting to leave the people of Beruna. Since he wasn't there to lead them, the people need someone else to rely on for guidance and protection, thus it seemed this girl was just good for that.
With a small smile, Caspian said "I understand. The people of Beruna need someone like you more than ever in this time of darkness." For a minute, there was silence between them.
Changing the subject, he said "Is it true what I hear? That a raid is being planned on the White Witches castle?"
