The Basics
Name:
Lady Natalia Earlshire, but prefers to be called Thalia, or Lady Thalia
Age:
17
Gender:
Female
Race:
Archenlander
Occupation:
Stable hand. No really, she enjoys working with horses. But other then being mistaken for it once or twice, she is, at most of the time, Lady of the Earlshire house.
The Look
Clothing Style:
If not for the fact that she adores her foster father and tries to please him in every way, Thalia would never don the dresses and gowns he prepares for her. But as it is, since Bardon enjoys seeing Thalia dressed up as a lady, she concedes. In court, and in the presence of her father at home, Thalia usually puts on one of the many elaborate dresses Bardon has prepared for her. Tending to lean towards red and green, Thalia's dresses have a wide range. But Thalia never appears without a brown velvet pouch strung across her waist. No one really knows what is within, and Thalia herself has never revealed its contents.
Out of court and in the open however, Thalia is far different from the Lady Thalia present in court. Her flamboyant, hyper nature was born together with this chestnut haired girl, and she is as playful and as active as a 10 year old boy. Thalia is a natural with animals, horses especially, and this has led to the girl donning her riding clothes, which consists of a plain stable boy tunic, and a pair of breeches. More often then not, when Thalia loans a horse from the royal stables, she has been mistaken for a stable hand. Not that she minds. She usually goes along until the person who mistaken her has left, and then quietly returns home, normally with a impish grin on her face
Overall Appearance:
Thalia has been well bred ever since Bardon accepted her within his family. With a head of chestnut locks that curls naturally and falls in soft brown waves around her shoulder, and are tied up in a half-ponytail more often then not, when she is out of court and her father's presence. Her dark locks in turn, frame her dark hazel gold eyes, and enhances her high cheekbones. Due to the amount of time she spends outside with her beloved animal friends, Thalia has a rather tanned complexion, much to her dismay.
Not really tall for her age, Thalia stands at a mere 5 feet 6, and rues the day she inherited the short genes. Yet, despite complaining and grousing about her short legs, they're slender, well toned from riding, and are strong enough to bring her running for miles without tiring out. Thalia also has a penchant for sword fighting, despite being completely hopeless in archery and hand-to-hand combat. Her training in the art of sword however, has left her with well toned arms, not to mention a pair of wide shoulders of which she doesn't particularly favour.
Markings:
Thalia has random scars on her upper arm and around her thigh from earlier days of learning sword fighting and riding, but other then that, her skin is pretty much smooth. Or so that seems to the naked eye. Truth be told, Thalia has many scars littering her arms and body. The ones on her body can easily be covered by her clothing, yet the ones on her arm, Thalia always covers with a thick layer of powder. The one scar that can never be covered, no matter the amount of powder she applies, is the one running from her right shoulder, to her left hip, which is the reason why Thalia never wears bare backed gowns.

The Personality
Personality:
Thalia is, to say the least, an extremely happy-go-lucky girl, despite knowing nothing about past. Her motto is, 'Life life to its fullest everyday, for you never know when you're going to drop dead', and she follows that motto to the dot. To her, having fun is more important then going for lessons and learning geometry, and although the girl attends the lessons of ladies just to please her beloved stepfather, she has been known to play truant and dissapear, more times then once. Although Thalia appears the proper lady in court, with all the proper etiquettes and manners, she can never be patient enough to wait till everything is over, and she gets to get out of that 'Lady Thalia' facade, and be who she truly is. That fun-loving, outspoken yet loving Thalia.
However, as everyone has times when they get dragged by the ship of emotions, Thalia too, is not spared from the worldly feelings. From time to time, the girl will wonder, why did she run from wherever she was born in the first place. Was Papa Bardon telling the truth when he said he found Thalia as a dirty ragamuffin covered in red angry welts across her back. At these times, Thalia is withdrawned in to a little shell of her own. She desperately wants to find out who she was before, and yet is afraid of what she would find out. The confusion that befells her at these times, sometimes consumes more of the girl then she can take.
But other then that, Thalia is pretty much a very flamboyant girl who would protect her foster family at any cost, and is as stubborn as a boulder. When she makes a decision, hardly anyone can sway her from it, even if they know for a fact that it'd be leading to her death. Thalia is just stubborn that way. No one ever found out how to cure her of that.
Strengths:
Not that Thalia has many strengths to boast off, but perhaps the one she loves the most, and is most proud of, is her natural touch with beasts, and animals, be it talking or dumb alike. She has a natural vibe that exudes trust to the beasts, and is probably a most suitable candidate to calm a raging tiger. Yet Thalia exerts her talent carefully, and hardly uses it. Thalia is also an excellent horse-rider. Perhaps this has something to do with her natural animal talent, but she can ride barebacked astride any horse. Thalia is also talented in her sword fighting abilities. One wouldn't call her a natural, but she can hold her own in a fight, and has hardly lost any matches with the ones in her father's home.
Weaknesses:
Thalia is extremely playful, to the point of fault sometimes. The amount of times she had got in trouble for sneakily changing the salt and sugar caskets in the kitchen and then watching the reaction of her family at dinner, was unaccountable for. And the times she sneaked in the village and caused panic among the Earlshire House, not to mention the time she accidently knocked over a whole shelf of books in the Earlshire library as she played tag with a bunch of talking Mouse, has still not yet been counted. At times, Sir Bardon is at a loss of what to do with his rascal of a daughter, no matter how much he dotes on her. Thalia can also be extremely tomboy-ish sometimes. With her hair kept under a tight hat, in a tunic and breeches while grooming the numerous steeds in the royal stables just for the fun of it, Thalia has been mistaken for a stable hand for too many times. Climbing trees, wading rivers, exploring the unknown. All that is in Thalia's daily list of to-do's, even if her father disapproves. To Sir Bardon, he has lost hope of ever finding a suitable suitor for Thalia, and Thalia never even thought of being a wife. All she thinks about is having fun, which in the end, leads to her being a little selfish. Her incapability of handling a bow and arrow, not to mention the fact that she is rendered useless in front of enemies without a sword, is something to be mentioned as well. Not that she likes to admit that. She prefers to think that she can fend off anyone, man or woman or beast.
Likes:
Can it be anymore obvious? Thalia loves beasts and talking animals. She finds each and every one of them adorable, and if she was allowed, would spend a whole day in their company without a doubt. Other then that, Thalia enjoys making her stepfather smile and laugh. Even if that means playing her most hated instrument, the flute, or even memorizing a whole page of mathematical formula's, which she hates, then so be it. If it pleases her stepfather, she would do so. Although odd, Thalia also relishes water. Water? Yes, water. She enjoys a swim in a nearby river or lake, and occasionally during a downpour, without her stepfather's knowledge, Thalia would just sneak out of the mansion in to the rain, and just have fun dancing around, relishing in the feel of the raindrops falling off her skin, before, probably, getting admonished by Bardon.
Dislikes:
Without a doubt, Thalia dislikes lessons with a passion. She can not see the point of sitting a boring room listening to a boring old coot droning on and on when she can be riding Dawn across the pasture on such wonderful days! Aside from that, Thalia also has an odd fear of sharp whizzing sounds, some sort like the ones a whip makes when being swung around. She winces whenever she hears anything that resembles it, and shies away when she sees a whip being used on anyone or any beast and animal alike. Thalia also keeps a constant hatred against vegetables. No the lady hates her vegetables and practically needs to have the greens force fed down her throat. Already 17 and she still needs to be told to clean up her greens.
The Past
History:
Thalia was born Yvette Tochugesha, an Archenlander, to a pair of love birds forced to marry as soon as they learnt that they had, unintentionally, conceived her. Unlike other births which are usually a source of joy, Thalia was not favoured by her parents, as they see her as the source of their downfall in the society, and thus, never harboured any love for their unwanted daughter.
From the time Thalia knew understood the value of money, and had logical understanding, her biological father threw her in the streets to beg for her own sourch of income, not bothering to provide her with proper nourishments, and only rags for clothing. She never had a life of love. She never even knew love, and by the time she was 7, she was wishing she had never been born. Her biological parents barely looked at her when she came back, and if she didn't provide enough money for their meals, she would get whipped with a snakeskin whip her father kept hung on the wall just for her. The girl hated her life with a passion. Frankly, the only joy she got out of life then was when she was forced out of the house and in the woods after a particularly intense whipping session by her father. There, she found a myriad of small creatures approaching her as the young girl of 7 sobbed on a rock she sat on. From then on, Thalia fled to the comfort of the woods and her furry animal friends whenever goes through a particularly intense punishment.
But it was all to change on her tenth birthday. She had gotten zilch from that day of begging, and her biological father was enraged. He did not care where his whip landed, as long as it made contact. On that day, the girl was not only heartbroken because her tenth birthday was filled with pain and suffering, she was also enraged by the lack of attention her parent's lavished on her. Having had enough of her life, that night itself, she picked up the little belongings she had, including a small granite rock one of her furry friends had given her, she stole away without the knowledge of her sleeping parents.
But luck was not on Thalia's side. She got lost as soon as she stepped out of Archenland, and throughout the night, the girl stumbled blindly around, with only one aim in her mind - to never return to Archenland, and the hellish 'home' she had. By the 2nd night of her random picking around, the young 10 year old girl was left almost powerless, having not had nourishment at all for the past 6 hours, having exhausted the meagre amount of supplies she brought. The throbbing angry welts across her arms from her father's whipping, and the barren cold lands that sent biting cold winds brushing across her delicate, chaffed skin, did not help the matter much. She was on the verge of fainting when her dark, deep sea green eyes caught sight of the borders of Narnia. But before she could go more then 10 steps, the girl stumbled, and rolled all the way down to the cliff side. The last thing she remembered was a sharp pain on the back of her head as she struck a sharp granite rock, and then her world fell black.
When she opened her eyes, Thalia was shocked, needless to say, when she saw a grand ceiling above her, the soft downy beddings cushioning her, not to mention two pairs of anxious eyes focused on her, and a pair of gnarled hands taking her pulse from her wrist. She sat up slowly, blinking her dark green eyes as she shook out her dark chestnut hair. The first question that came from the man that was obviously one of the nobles, was a question asking the girl on her identity. She opened her mouth to answer... and found that she couldn't no.
No, she did not go mute. She couldn't remember. What was her name? Where did she come from? She could not recall a single thing from her life as Yvette the street urchin. Truthfully, the only thing she recalled was that she had just surpassed her tenth birthday, and other then that, she drew a blank. No matter how much she tries to come up with a reply, all she could say was, "I don't know."
She soon learnt that the two who had taken her in was the Lord and Lady Earlshire from Narnia, and that she had ended up in Narnia. At first, Thalia was absoluetly mortified when she found out she was in the house of a noble, but when Sir Bardon voiced out his intention to adopt the girl as his own daughter, she was overjoyed. Sir Bardon and Lady Karena had no offspring of their own, no matter how hard they tried, and Lady Karena had taken a shine to the sweet, impish looking girl her husband had saved from the entrance of Narnia lands. The Lord and Lady Earlshire dubbed their new daughter Natalia Earlshire, but it wasn't long before the young, preppy and hyper girl asked them to use Thalia, instead of such a formal name as Natalia.
Thalia was immensely happy of her life at the Earlshire house, even if she despised the lady lessons her foster parents set upon her, she abides by their wishes and attends them, merely to make them happy. But as soon as Sir Bardon realized her penchant for sword fighting, not to mention her love for animals, he immediately instructed one of his knights to train Thalia in the arts of the sword, as well as taking upon himself to teach her horse riding at the same time. Despite her poor aim, and her completely useless hand-to-hand combat, Thalia proved herself worthy of a sword, and her father found her a natural talent with animals, be it beast or talking, of all kinds. The girl soon blossomed into a slender lady, retaining her high spirits and easy-going nature, but eventually blossoming into a lady that was worthy of her title as Lady Thalia Earlshire, for she would never shame her foster parents in public.
Family:
Stepfather - Bardon Earlshire
Stepmother - Karena Earlshire
Other:
Thalia has a chestnut stallion as her steed, a gorgeous animal with silky pale gold mane that flows down the right side of his neck, and a wonderful pale gold tail that is akin to a rushing waterfall when he runs. She found the stallion when he was but a colt, during one of her redevous to the woods, and had nursed the then-hurt colt back to health, and when the colt refused to leave her after he healed, Thalia gleefully decided to keep him as a friend and steed, and named him Dawn Breaker, for his gorgeous golden hide which gleams like the rising sun when it reflects light.
