I was thinking, seeing as this forum is fast becoming a big busy place... What if in non rpg threads (ie Games threads) you had a ten page limit then start a new thread such as seen in www.ncisspecialops.proboards29.com they have a ten page limit it saves space time and keeps order... Just an idea ;D Rai

a ten page limit, lets say for example the games area, alot of threads and well they do get very busy right?
well, what if you put a limit to how many pages before you start a new thread same place just #2 #3 and so on... like
duck duck goose duck duck goose #2
and so on
then people dont have to scroll through pages and pages to see old gooses or so on and so forth

okay now I got ya, sorry I'm a bit slow at confusing things lol. Although probably I'm the only one confused. That'd possibly be a good idea, I'd like some more discussion before it goes into actual effect, but it sounds good.

awesome! Well life would be easier... save time too no one likes scrolling through ten page threads and so on... and if youd like some evidence VVVVVVVVVVVVV www.ncisspecialops.proboards29.com^^^^^^^^ An NCIS forum I am on use this tactic and it is very very useful for keeping things from going haywire ;D

I'm jumping in here, sorry. I'm slightly confused, because you talk about scrolling through each page, when you don't actually have to. All you have to do is put in the page number you want to get to, and it takes you there, so you don't have to go through all 8 pages of Duck Duck Goose or whatever. It's not a bad idea though- I just thought I'd toss that in.

true point peter, If I think back to ncisspecialops and the fact that whenever we allow our threads to exeed 10 pages it tends to go beserk and we usually end up loosing alot.

Peter does have a point, but I dont really see the loosing a lot thing. I mean if what your referring is going to the end of the thread then having to read all those pages, would you not have to read them again if you were to put them in a new thread? I'm not throwing out against anyones idea so don't get me wrong there I'm just trying to get to the exact point of everything before giving a definite yes or no.

Thats alright Caspian, I am usually sure of my ideas heh lol ... I think it depends on the size of your forum and the way it reacts with how much stuff is on there...I know ncisspecialops crashed cause of the amount of pictures threads and members that was on there... You wouldnt have to read them again neccesarily to put them in a new thread, if the person that last posted takes his/her last post and posts it up in a new thread along with a reminder of what to do then it would be simple (I think )
